I had suffered with a very painful back for 8 years from 2003 and had to retire from teaching as a result. I say 8 years because in October 2011 after reading Anxious for Nothing I found I was able to do much more physical work with no pain!! I truly bellieve that reading this book was a life changing experience. I was always anxious to be sure that everyone around me was ok, taking responsibility for everyone in my family from my mother to my grandchildren thinnking I must do all these things and really feeling the burden of everyone else's cares. I thought at first I would just feel condemned when reading this book, as I have been prone to think in that way, but instead it opened my eyes to see what I needed to repent of and truly trust God in all things. I am now about to lead our small group bible study from this book as I want others to feel this freedom and joy and have already given away 10 copies to people God has shown me to give it to. The study guide in the back makes us face up to the wrong thinking so engrained in us and make the necessary changes in our lives. Thank you so much for showing us from scripture such vital truth. Joan ...

God Bless you Pastor John. I admire the stand you take in the church as well as out church. Mainly because your in the mainstream. Such issues as homosexuality you address like God addresses in the word. Its a great disappointment when Christian leaders compromise, ITS A SLAP IN THE FACE! If the leaders compromise than the laymen will also compromise. The burden of this country really effects me, its evil on every side, science, politics, every aspect. Much pressure is put on the truly born again Christian. So I thank God for the few that's committed.

John and team - Thank you so much for all the dedication of services you provide on this website. I am extremely thankful for it, and continue to use these resources daily (no joke). I highly recommend use of this website and its resources, as well as John MacArthur's books and study Bibles, to every person I know or am introduced to in my life. I can't get enough of his books! God has truly used John MacArthur to be a mentor and role model in my life, and he certainly is the best example I know of a Christian in today's society. He has helped me keep my focus on Christ and His Word, as well as guided me in all aspects of my life to the Word of God for answers. I would like to meet him someday, or at least hear him preach live at least once in my life, but even if I got that, I don't think I could get enough. If I lived in California, his church is the church I would most like to attend. I cannot find a church that compares to yours, John, and I am still searching for one that holds a high standard of committment to teach the Word of God to His people. I feel as though I cannot lower my standard and expectations of hearing the Word of God in my search for a church home. It is truly a desire written on my heart to hear the truth of the Gospel. Grace Community Church sure seems to set that bar of what kind of church I am looking for. I am thankful for it, and so, I thank you, John MacArthur, and the team for teaching the Word of God and standing by it. My prayers go out to you all, doing the true work of God and reaching out to the people. Please continue the online sermons, I can't get enough of them. Of course, I have my aunt to thank for all of this, because she is the one who introduced me to JMac's website and all his resources. May God bless you all for living in Him and for Him.

Good Morning Pastor MacArthur, I have been an avid listener and have tried to support your ministry when I could; and have purchased multiple books from your resources. I have had a couple of concerns about your stance on Psychology and Women in Ministry. My endeavors are to one day be a biblical counselor and a teacher of the Word of God in my local assembly. Over the years I have heard your position on women usurping authority in the church and feeling somewhat like you were being chauvinistic in your opinion. However, I must say I have changed my view and agree with your wholeheartedly to the point of never wanting to sit under a woman pastor. Your biblical explanation was so clear and simple that I could not refute it and must concede that even though my aspiration is to teach in the church it must be done decent and in order and at the behest of my pastor. On the topic of Psychology and Evangelicals, I was so upset with you at one point because I had always wanted to be a Psychologist and have taken college courses toward that end; however, I became conflicted when I heard your stance to the point of writing a comment suggesting that you were just being one-sided. Again I must concede. I am currently reading your book titled, "Counseling" and I must say that the points are well made and it is overwhelmingly clear that the Bible is the only source to aid in the healing of a broken and contrite spirit as well as those that are dealing with other issues. Having gone through a bout with depression and panic attacks it was to the bible I turned and for some reason in my pursuit of Psychology I forgot how instrumental the Bible was in bringing me through that dark period of my life. Thank you Pastor MacArthur for being a man of God who unflinchingly speaks forth the oracles of God without wavering!

I just wanted to say thank you to John MacArthur and the ministry of GTY. I had heard of John MacArthur years ago, but had been told he was too harsh! (at that time I was caught up in the charismatic movement). As I jumped from church to church seeking God's truth, I was never at peace for very long. Something just wasn't right with what I was hearing and/or experiencing. Once I was diagnosed with a chemical imbalance, these churches showed their true colors. I ended up spiritually slaughtered! I was angry, confused, and disillusioned. I think the only reasons I didn't quit was because I didn't want to go to hell and I wanted my children to learn about God. My family and I ended up attending a huge church for about 5 years. However, the last two years we were there I felt as if I was just punching the time card in and out. I had a major lack of peace. I don't know exactly how or when I started listening to pastor John's sermons and interviews on YouTube, but I did. I admired the fact that he always turned to the Bible, not his own opinions when responding to the questions (often questions other pastors and well known men of God avoided to answer or answered with "It's not my place to judge.") Anyways, as time went on I started to be a good Berean in my church and realized many of the books the classes were based on referenced mystics and those in the New Age or contemplative spirituality! When I brought it up to my pastor he didn't want to hear it. I told him about John MacArthur and he told me he didn't like him, yet he thought Rick Warren and John Ortberg were sound teachers! Another of the pastors from this church told me to "let it go so the ministry could move forward". So I did. However, to make a long story short, once this church embraced the Daniel Plan and would not listen to my concerns, I took my family and left. We found another church and after a long discussion with the pastor on truth, had thought it was biblically sound. Much to my horror, about a month later they hired a woman who was into the Word of Faith movement. She actually told a woman in our Wed night group whose husband was not saved that she should "sic the holy spirit on him!" I wanted to jump up and tell her the Holy Spirit is God and not some dog we can command! Needless to say my family and I picked up and left again. Praise God we found another church. This one is very traditional and does expository teaching from the Bible. The pastor actually likes John MacArthur's teachings and has many of his books and commentaries! He also enforces church discipline, which is totally new to me. (and I've been attending various churches for 42 years!). Today, instead of just watching pastor John's messages on YouTube, I go to gty.org and listen to the sermons, watch the videos, and read the articles and blogs. I have purchased several of pastor John's books, Bibles and study guides. I have learned so much about the true God, the true Word, and making sure I'm a true believer in the Lord Jesus Christ! (I'm also learning about parenting God's way!) I realized I had been deceived because I wasn't reading the Bible very much. I just took man at his word rather than God at His! I won't make that mistake again! Thank you so much for making so many resources available for free (or low cost) and for not being afraid to stand for God's truth (even if it is hard to swallow!) God bless you. I will be keeping you all in my prayers (as I'm learning the right way to pray not the Word of Faith way!)
